Clips

Postby iain1 on Mon Aug 29, 2005 7:12 am

Is there going to be an index of all the clips that people have uploaded to this site cos everytime i visit this site, there is always a different clip to download, and i always feel like there has been a clip which i have missed.......

...by the way i think the clip with the announcer getting bucketted, then the atv logo, then straight back to the wet announcer is pukka!!!!,they dont introduce kids programmes like that anymore!!!
ATV and southern television, sadly missed and very fondly remembered.........

There's about 30 different clips that get on the CLIPS page. The Central News one focussing on this site is permanent (hey, we have egos), but the other clips appear once every month. The way to ensure you have them all is to visit us daily for the next 30 or so days.

Understandable for ATV, as they made the show, and that announcer was in the Tiswas studio to co-presenter the show. What was really amazing was in the Anglia region when the Phantom visited announcer Michael Speke and flanned him before Tiswas started. Obviously some Anglia staff wanting to recreate some of the Tiswas magic, but very good to see on such a small old-fashioned ITV company. For years I thought I imagined it, but someone did contact me mentioning the incident.

Not really, as today's Saturday morning TV is clearly influenced by Tiswas. Just seen the trailer for the new series of Dick and Dom tonight (in prime time TV!) and that makes me pleased.

No Saturday morning show has ever bettered Tiswas, and I've seen some really terrible stuff, particularly in the 1990s (Tricky, Scratchy & Co, etc). I think the Ministry Of Mayhem and even BBC's Saturday Show offer something fairly worthy. I got fed up with the BBC's sad attempts to recreate past glories (having Mo Mowlam on Live and Kicking is not akin to Margaret Thatcher's appearance on Saturday Superstore) and am glad there's been a shake-up.

Neunie's got a full audio recording of the song (it goes on for a little longer than today's video clip) and he gave me a copy a while back, which I must get on this site, along with library music mp3s handed over by another forum regular.

I believe the song was produced by Chas N Dave.

And those blocks made an appearance in O.T.T...

Andrew's saved one of the pie plates he was flanned with. Apparently it's made out of polystrene, not paper.

It's clearly orange juice, but I know orange juice goes quite well with vodka.
